What do you think?

HANNA-RIIKALLE/FOR THE MEMORY OF HANNA-RIIKKA

Chorus: ”If you stay by me I don’t promise a moon from the sky, only my love nothing else, if you stay by me…”

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Hän lentoon lähti siivillään. Unesta voinut ei enää herättää. Nyt taivaalta meitä katselee ja läheisiään suojelee.

*********************************

With her wings she rose up, flied to the heaven. Couldn’t be waking up, watching us from there. Guarding all her loved ones, always and forever.

Hanna-Riikka Siitonen were singer, most remembered of the 90’s girl duo: ”Taikapeili” (magic mirror) where she song with Nina Tapio (maker of that memory clip).

I was a teenager and big fan of them. I also had their album (on c-cassette). Specially I loved their cover song: ”Mitä yhdestä särkyneestä sydämestä” (What from a broken heart-orig.by Mamba) and also song named: ”Enkelin siivet” (Wings of an angel).

Still their most biggest hit and the first one of their hits were: ”Jos sulla on toinen” (If you got other one). Those days my friend got a school mate called: ”Jossu”. She were teased by that song cause if you say ”Jossu have” in finnish, it’s the same as ”Jossulla”. It sounds the same as ”If you (have)” – ”Jos sulla (on)”. So it’s like ”Jossulla on toinen” (Jossu have other one).

Oh, those days…It’s like ages ago…Hanna-Riikka left too early. Now she’s also in angels choir, like so many others…

Lepää rauhassa Hanna-Riikka!/

Rest in peace Hanna-Riikka!

DANCING WITH THE STARS 2018 (COMERCIAL POEM)

This Spanish sparkling wine we did by to celebrate my commercial poem. It was quite dry but still good tasting wine. Not bad at all.

Finally it’s official and done…I mean the comercial convention I told you some time ago. Specifically Finnish marketing company bought my poem for ”Dancing with the Stars” -program commercial to channel 3 (commercial television). The finnish version of ”Dancing With the Stars” is starting again in autumn and this commercial with my poem came out at Monday.

I was so surprised that it was my poem they found (here at my blog, post: ”runoja 5/poems 5”) and it was the poem they wanted to use!

At first I thought my poem might be maybe little bit too deep for entertainment program but it’s actually working well. It depends how you take it. It doesn’t have to be taken too serious even that was my vision when I wrote it. I made it to be more like ”the dance of life”.

”Dancing With the Stars” is one of my favorite programs! I have watched every season of it. This is my dream come true!

My poem is read by famous finnish dancer and choreographer: Jorma Uotinen. What a great honor!

You can read my poem below first in finnish (naturally) and then there is my translation to english. I’m not sure if it’s working so well but atleast I tried. I think you can catch the idea.

*****************************************

Minä tanssin. Tanssin yli esteiden. Tanssin ohi päivien. Tanssin läpi vuosien.

Minä tanssin. Tanssin vaikka väsyttää. Tanssin kohti päämäärää. Tanssin askeleen viimeiseen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In english: I’m dancing. Dancing over barriers. Dancing pass the days. Dancing through the years.
I’m dancing. Dancing though tired. Dancing to the target. Dancing till my final step.
SUMMER MUSIC
This is very tasty kebab made with humour. ”Dorka” means ”dumb” or ”dork” in finnish. It’s used as fake Greece cause it sounds Greece. There is also a funny story on this packet.
”Niin aikaisin”/”So early”
”Nopeimmat junat”/”The most speedy trains”
This song reminds me of my childhood and my youth happy summerdays at summercottage.
There (in Helsinki) have been way too hot for my taste last days. It’s been about 30c. On Tuesday the highest temperature was 32c(/89,60F). If this heat is continuing I’m not sure how can I handle with this. I can’t sleep (well) and I can’t think because of this heat. Even we have had window open every day and night it’s still too hot. It’s quite hard even write these posts cause I can’t concentrate…
Beautiful sky one day nearby our home…
Today it was tolerable but now on the night our house is like sauna again…This is so rare in Finland that I know we should be happy…I promise to try my best!! 😁
This song: (Wild lupines) remind me also of our summer cottage cause there is growing much lupines…
This is just so beautiful and tacky…
”Muistan kesän”/”I remember the summer”
Try to stay cool on these hot summer days!!
EMBARRASSING MOMENTS
Nylon Beat: ”Nuclear test”. (In this case nuclear means sex.) This was one of my favorite songs from Nylon Beat by then…(not because of lyrics but because of that sound and melody!)
MY EMBARRASSING MOMENT
Do you remember a situation when you were totally embarrassed? What and why was if for. Were did it all start? If you do I hope you share your story with me…
But let me tell you my story first…It was warm and sunny day in year 1996 when finnish girl duo: ”Nylon Beat” did publish their first album. I was at countryside with my family and we were visiting at local central area with my father and our family friend.
https://www.elyricsworld.com/yo-yo_(english_version)_lyrics_nylon_beat.html
In this tiny ”Keuruu” town there is (or at least was) only two grocery stores, one pizzeria, one restaurant, Hotell, one grill, one Alko (alcohol store), one pub, one “Tiimari” (hobbies/gift ware business chain which shut down it’s business 2014 in Finland and in Baltic country’s). Also there were one music (record) store (which I don’t think is there anymore cause records (or tapes) doesn’t sell so well anymore), and then there were one or two clothing stores (and of course banks, old and new churche, hair dresser, kiosk and so on).
”Like a candy”
(Their singing some man who’s like ”candy” to them…)
************************************
So we went to that music store and my father promised to buy one album to me. I picked the new Nylon Beat tape cause that was one of the tapes I had been wishing to get. Well, on our way back to summer cottage we listened that tape in car. At first it was ok. There were nice, girly songs. Those girls sounded like Disney’s chipmunks Chip’n Dale (which became their nick names later). It was good tape but soon I realised it was not the tape I would like to listening with my father and his friend. I didn’t know that many of their songs were about sex. I was so embarrassed when our family friend asked me “is this good tape?” I couldn’t deny I liked it and with the shame in my mind I said: “Yes”. Well, luckily there were also beautiful love songs but still… Never forget that day. It stayed in my mind all these years!!
So that was my story. Now is your turn to tell me your embarrassing moment!
