Wellcome to get to know Finland and Finnishness, as well as the world of 80's and 90's childhood memories, dreams, dance, gymnastics, baking and other interesting topics. Jump along the dance girl's journey!
The Dancing With The Stars winners (Finland) have been chosen…and the winners are Sami Helenius & Virpi Sarasvuo (ex-skier). It means that my favorite couple: Miisa & Marko were left without a prize but they did their best and their dances remain in my heart. Good performance from them, however! Fortunately they were involved to the end of competition!
The nebula on the dance floor is over. Thanks to all the contestants for the beautiful and entertaining moments you offered on Sunday evenings and congratulations to winners!
Last sunday we heard spesific news from TTK Finland covid-19 case which was why this show was on break. One dance student finalist -ex hockeyplayer Niklas Hagman- got the covid-19 and he decided to quit the competion. He was feeling so week and didn’t have energy to train anymore (still after the quarantine).
Luckily his dance teacher pair didn’t got infection but they were one of the winner favorites so it’s very sad they had to quit and just before the finals! Dance teacher Kia Lehmuskoski was weeping in tv when they were interviewed. They had eagerly waited the finals and trained hardly so naturally the disappointment was great!
It would have been very devastating to me and for all of us. We had been training about 2-3 years for both of those events. Field shows are so big spectacels so training must beginning at an early stage….So I really do understand the feeling of TTK-dancers!
Well, this Sunday is the 2.final show where the winner will resolves. Hopefully we don’t get anymore any devastating surprises and…
I was gonna made a post of dancing with the stars semifinals which should have been on Sunday. I was waited this semifinal episode a whole week and then when Sunday finally came, I went to net and clicked the show on. Then I realized that actually isn’t semifinal episode at all. There was just an episode where judges did memorize the best dances of previous seasons. Later when I was searching on net, I found the news about this. There were said that someone on Dancing with the stars team had covid -19 virus and that’s why the semifinal episode was cancelled.
I’m disappointed that I couldn’t see my favorite vlogger: Miisa on the dancefloor as every sunday! Let’s see if DWTS can move on or will they quit it. Actually they shouldn’t even start the show this year. It would have been better if they just had decide not to show it but they did, and now when I have been watching it every week, what a pity it would be if it ends unfinished. Well, just have to wait and see.
Earlier on this season there were covid -19 case on one of the DWTS orchester members and they did switch the orchester for a week. Now only two weeks after that another case of the virus occured…
This covid -19 have totally ruined my life in every possible way. It almost have took my mentall healthy away too and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Maybe you too are feeling this way, or are you? Are you as worried than I am now when I’m almost loosing my mind because of the fear (specially now when this covid-19 have started to spread here in Finland too?)
There is not much else to do than only pray to God to make this end and make the world normal again…on the meantime we can try to relax with watching these beautiful dance shows…maybe it helps…even a little!
This Spanish sparkling wine we did by to celebrate my commercial poem. It was quite dry but still good tasting wine. Not bad at all.
Finally it’s official and done…I mean thecomercial convention I told you some time ago. Specifically Finnish marketing company bought my poem for ”Dancing with the Stars” -program commercial to channel 3 (commercial television). The finnish version of ”Dancing With the Stars” is starting again in autumn and this commercial with my poem came out at Monday.
I was so surprised that it was my poem they found (here at my blog, post: ”runoja 5/poems 5”) and it was the poem they wanted to use!
At first I thought my poem might be maybe little bit too deep for entertainment program but it’s actually working well. It depends how you take it. It doesn’t have to be taken too serious even that was my vision when I wrote it. I made it to be more like ”the dance of life”.
”Dancing With the Stars” is one of my favorite programs! I have watched every season of it. This is my dream come true!
My poem is read by famous finnish dancer and choreographer: Jorma Uotinen. What a great honor!
You can read my poem below first in finnish (naturally) and then there is my translation to english. I’m not sure if it’s working so well but atleast I tried. I think you can catch the idea.
Minä tanssin. Tanssin yli esteiden. Tanssin ohi päivien. Tanssin läpi vuosien.
Minä tanssin. Tanssin vaikka väsyttää. Tanssin kohti päämäärää. Tanssin askeleen viimeiseen.
In english: I’m dancing. Dancing over barriers. Dancing pass the days. Dancing through the years.
I’m dancing. Dancing though tired. Dancing to the target. Dancing till my final step.
